Family Law Report – Closing the jurisdictional gap

The first recommendation in the ALRC’s latest inquiry report: Family Law for the Future is that family law disputes be returned to the states and territories and the federal family courts eventually abolished. This recommendation responds to arguably the most pressing concern facing the family law system: that children are falling into harm because of gaps between the federal family court and state and territory courts, child protection services and police.
